October, 2021.- The economic impact of the Coronavirus crisis and the resulting confinement in Madrid have affected the finances of the families of the only Jewish school in Madrid.
Today, many families cannot afford tuition and the local Jewish community and donors are overwhelmed in their ability to help with individual hardship and prop up the very existence of the community.
For this reason, the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community of Madrid began a series of actions to make the necessary adjustments to face the new reality. Among these actions is fundraising to overcome the deficit that the school is expected to need in the coming school years.
Appealing to the teachings of the Talmud (Shavuot 39a), which states that "Every Jew is responsible for one another" Mr. Mikhail Fridman, together with the Safra Foundation and the management of our educational partners Educating For Impact (EFI) and for the second year in a row, they have donated a generous contribution to the scholarship fund of the Ibn Gabirol - Estrella Toledano School to preserve the continuity of excellent Jewish education in Madrid.
We are committed to the future and continuity of Jewish life in our city and therefore we will continue our fundraising efforts to ensure that the needs of the school are met. We are sure that others
